Black
Bear Hunting Area Alberta Canada
Our hunts are conducted
in two different areas of the Northwestern Boreal Forest.
Area 356 is approximately 1 hour southeast of Grande Prairie
and is easily accessible by most two wheel drive vehicles.
In this area you will find a good mix of Aspen and spruce
forest with rolling hills and a never ending supply of
oil and logging roads used to access most of the hunting
region. There are several grassy pipelines and tiny creeks
in the area giving excellent places to spot bears coming
to feed and drink in the sun. This area is usually hunted
the second week of May when the grass is the greenest.
Our second area 355/445 which is usually hunted the fourth
week in May due to the slower snow melt in the higher
elevations is approximately 2 hours South West of Grande
Prairie near the Kakwa Wilderness Park. In this area you
will be hunting right along the edge and into the Rocky
Mountains. There are also many mountain streams and rivers
in this area to attract thirsty bears. This area does
not have as many oil and logging roads which helps to
limit the amount of pressure in the area. Most of our
efforts are aimed towards grassy meadows, logged out mountain
sides, avalanche slopes and long stretching pipelines.
Both of these areas have an excellent population of trophy
black bears and will not disappoint. Booking early is
recommended so that you may secure the area and dates
you would like to hunt.
If this sounds like the kind
of bear hunting area you've been searching for, Please
call Bill or Tammy and get ready for the hunt of a lifetime!
